It is two weeks to Mahalaya! Though life is not as we have known, let us shed the negativity and get into the festival spirit and enjoy a very different Durga Pujo this year. To this end, we at Art Unbound are excited to present a live concert with Manomay Bhattacharya.

Manomay is one of the finest musicians of Bengal today, with a rich repertoire of music spanning every conceivable genre. A torch bearer of Jadubhatta, his rich melodious voice and his versatility is unparalleled in today’s musical firmament.

Under the tutelage of Benukumar Dobey, Bibhuti Bose and Jayanta Bose, Manomay was trained in the finer nuance of the Classical music. He learned Rabindrasangeet from his father from at the early age of 4 years and Nazrul Geeti, Rajnikanter Gaan, Atulprasad, Dewijendra Geeti, Ragpradhan, Bhajan and Modern Bengali songs from illustrious teachers like Biman Mukhopadhyay, Sukumar Mitra, Dilip Roy, Anal Chattopadhyay, Sanjay Chakraborty, Jatileshwar Mukhopadhyay and Pandit Ajay Chakraborty.

Manomay’s concert is to support his accompanying musicians, who have not had a chance to perform in the last six months due to the pandemic and are in dire financial distress.
